Lash Extension Questions & Answers

Eyelash Extensions are a popular new service and product that lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic and mink eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for special occasions or for day to day wear.
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone's experience will differ based on day to day activities but over all touchups should only be required every 3 to 4 weeks. A special waterproof bonding agent is used. The bonding agent does not contain any fumes or irritants and is long lasting.
We recommend getting a touch up every 3 to 4 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Your natural eyelashes fall off every 45 - 60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as expsoure to steam or touching your eyes alot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. A touch up is needed to fill in any lashes that fallen. Touch ups average about 45 minutes
The application process for lash extensions normally takes anywhere from 1 hour - 1.5 hours. You will lay comfortably on a massage or facial table with your eyes closed. The Eyelash professional will then apply an under eye gel pad to cover your lower lashes . Then the extensions will be applied to each individual eyelash on a hair by hair basis.
Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do not recommend however that you use heavy water, such as in the shower on your lashes for about 12- 24 hours after the eyelash application. A light Mist is fine..

Facial Questions and Answers

EVERYBODY should have a facial at least once a quarter. Deep cleansing, exfoliating and balancing the skin’s Ph are all essential for healthy skin, correcting and preventing problems and premature aging.
When received regularly, facial can result in noticeable improvements to skin tone, texture and appearance. A facial can also restore the skin’s normal balance of oil and pH. Additional, temporary results may include: heightened skin softness and pliancy, increased circulation of blood to the face and an overall soothing of the spirit. An added bonus, most people find receiving a professional facial to be exceptionally relaxing and enjoyable.
Facials may bring impurities, if they exist, to the surface. That’s the only way they will get out!
Got oily, sun-damaged, hyper-pigmented, sensitive, dry, or post operative skin? A facial series is a must for you. It can complement what you are doing with your dermatologist or help your skin recover from the trauma of surgery. Remember, one facial is not a magic bullet. Persistence and good home care is necessary to turn a problem around.
The purpose of a facial is to help correct and preserve the health of the skin — it isn’t expected that your skin will be perfect or blemish-free. If you are experiencing problems, we suggest you choose an Acne Treatment Facial, papaya Pell or Glycolic Pell. If your esthetician finds evidence of comedones (blackheads) during your facial, she will gently attempt to remove them using slight pressure from tissue-covered fingertips. If your skin has red eruptions, your esthetician will be able to work on a very mild occurrence. A dermatologist should treat extreme forms of skin eruptions, acne and other skin conditions and diseases. If you have questions about whether or not a facial would be appropriate for you, please consult with your physician.

Medical Peels Questions & Answers

Chemical peels produce controlled injury to the skin, which promote growth of new skin and improved appearance. A variety of chemicals can be used as peeling agents and include glycolic, trichloroacetic (TCA), salicylic and resorcinol. The different chemical solutions produce different degrees of injury to the skin.
Chemical peels are used for the treatment of photo-aging (from sun damage), wrinkles, scarring, precancerous lesions, and discoloration (including melasma, freckles, and age spots).
There are numerous chemical peels and each one is performed differently. In general, chemical peels usually begin with vigorous cleansing of the skin, followed by application of the appropriate peel.
With good sun protection, results can last months, even years. This is dependent upon the depth of the peel. The deeper peels generally provide a long-lasting effect.
Most peels can be performed within a few minutes, depending on size of the area being treated.

Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that uses a spray of microcrystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells and reveal younger, healthier-looking skin

Benefits of Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion tackles flaws at the surface level, treating only the outermost layer of skin. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons notes that microdermabrasion treatments are delivered via a hand-held device that sends small crystals over the skin, after which they're suctioned up, or via a diamond-tipped wand. Both types of microdermabrasion simply remove the surface layer of dead skin cells through gentle exfoliation. The skin is not wounded or abraded past the epidermis.
Microdermabrasion isn't a painful procedure. You may feel a scratching or mild stinging during treatment or a vibration, much like a massage. Your skin may be pink and slightly swollen after microdermabrasion, but these side effects typically last only a day. Your treating dermatologist will apply a soothing moisturizer after the treatment and give you a sun protection plan to protect your new layer of skin.
Another benefit of microdermabrasion is that this procedure is quick, usually taking less than an hour. Treatment of the face takes around a half-hour; treatment of the neck even less, around 20 minutes. You may need several sessions to achieve optimal results. Most people need only two sessions in the same month, complemented by monthly maintenance treatments.
Microdermabrasion is appropriate for cosmetic problems associated with aging skin, such as sun damage, age spots and other types of discoloration and fine lines that occur early in the aging process. But microdermabrasion also benefits those with oily skin, reducing minor acne scarring. Microdermabrasion is a treatment that may be beneficial for blemished skin. A single treatment is appropriate when you have a special occasion on the calendar and want your skin to look healthy and refreshed.
In the hands of a skilled aesthetician, microdermabrasion is safe, far safer than home microdermabrasion kits. Home microdermabrasion kits also won't give you the same results you would get if your treatment were delivered by a skilled aesthetician. Seek the services of a qualified professional to avoid potential complications and get optimal benefits from microdermabrasion.
